Let me guess. You just started a blog.

You just started a blog.

You’ve been super pumped about it. You spent all this time and effort getting your site up as quickly as possible. You poured your heart and soul into creating your very first blog post and did your best to make quality content.

You even set up your very first email list and made sure to put an opt-in on your blog where readers can subscribe.

Maybe you even made a free gift that your subscribers can download.

You got everything set up — just right — and you couldn’t have been more proud.

You expected everything to blow up — that people would love and appreciate all the work that you’ve been doing. That you would get loads of traffic and shares.

But there’s been nothing. Just crickets. Your blog feels like a dead zone.

Don’t worry. Here are 3 tips to bring traffic to your blog, even when you’re new. So you can finally show people all the awesome work you’ve been doing and get the attention you deserve.

1. Forums

Forums is one of the easiest way to get traffic to your blog.

If you write quality content and share it in a relevant forum, this can see you getting thousands of traffic in a day. This also helps you get new followers and more popularity.

Here are some few tips to apply when using forum as a source of traffic:

  • Do not spam any forum, only post in the relevant forum or thread. Nobody likes body like spam and doing this can easily get you banned.
  • Write quality content. Doing this will establish you as an authority in your niche and get you loyal followers.
  • Use catchy titles. No matter how awesome your post is, if nobody clicks on through to the post, they won't know. So the first thing is to grab their attention with a good heading.

2. Social media

Social media is another good way to get traffic especially if you already have great followers.

Here are some basic tips for getting started with social media:

  • Pick 1 platform to start. That way you can learn fast, become an expert, and get results quicker.
  • Follower 50 – 100 people in your niche every day to help you get your first 1,000 followers.
  • Join relevant groups.
  • Share other people’s content that matches your niche. Try to provide as much value as possible.
  • Be authentic. Let everybody know that you’re a real person.
  • Be patient. Growing a social media following from scratch takes time. Just don’t give up. If you’re going to use social media as part of your traffic strategy, then you want to focus on growing your account first before you start trying to use it to generate traffic. Build up your social media presence, gain some followers, then use it to drive traffic to your blog. 3. Guess blogging

Guest blogging can be intimidating. I get it.

The fear of rejection is powerful. But you can’t let it hold you down.

I know that popular bloggers feel like mythical creatures that are above your social class, but the truth is they’re just people. Just like you, me and everybody else.

And though they’re busy, it’s not impossible to connect with them. And you’ll soon find out that most bloggers are really friendly and awesome people.

Guest posting is great because it continues to grow your relationships with other bloggers, brings traffic to your website, and builds your credibility.

The #1 Trick Is To Be Patient

Don’t get discouraged if you don’t get epic results right away. Getting lots of traffic takes time, and it can be difficult at first. But don’t let that get you down. And don’t you dare give up.

Focus on your goals, and why you want to accomplish them. Keep going, and keep working hard, even when you don’t feel like it.

The more you work, the more momentum you build. Don’t give up because your snowball hasn’t reached critical mass. Just keep pushing it downhill and it will get there soon enough.

Blogging is a bit like building a house. You need to start by building a solid foundation, and then all the other pieces slowly come together one at a time.

Hello thanks for the tips, my main problem is getting genuine backlinks from authority sites that wil help me rank on google, is guess blogging the only way I cank do that cos I'm nt sure I will have time to write guest posts, its a bit stressful and most times Nigerian Bloggers don't accept guest posts. They will just ignore you. Am think of buying backlinks from fiverr or other sites, is that advisable?

Hi Ayocoded, I understand your frustration 'cause I have been there.

First of all, buying backlink from Fiverr is not a good idea, it doesn't worth your money (talking from personal experience). And in some cases, it can negatively impact your site.

A simple way to start getting backlink order than guess post is blog commenting.

Though most of the backlinks you will get from blog comments are nofollow links, but it can help improve your ranking if your comments are not spammy. Plus it can give you exposure which will lead to quality backlink from other bloggers if you have a post worthy of linking to. I was able to get one of my blogs to the top using this tactics.

You also need to be patient, SEO takes time.

I wouldn't think so because anybody selling backlinks is most likely selling the same type of backlinks you will get from Fiverr.

To add to that, blog outreach is another way to get traffic to new blog.

What this means is simply reaching out to influencers to your in niche and asking them to share your content with their reader.

However, you need to make sure that the content is worthy of such honor before reaching out to anybody.

Blog outreach is can be daunting task if you want to to do it well, I personally don't recommend it to new bloggers.

Great input though.
